Jake started in hospitality at age 15 in his hometown of Fortville. He and Toby met during their time at Ball State, where Jake first started working in fine dining. He relocated to Indy, working his way through the ranks to eventually become Regional Chef for Prime 47. It was always Jake’s dream to own his own restaurant, and in 2015 that became reality when he and Toby opened FoxGardin Kitchen & Ale.
Toby started in hospitality at age 16 and worked his way up from a busser to management during college. He holds a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from Ball State (chirp chirp!). He and his wife Lanae and daughter Evie reside in Fortville. Toby is known for being the life of the party and his catch phrases like “I’ll Do One.”
Nestled in Fortville this restaurant continues to make you smile every time you walk in the door. Small cozy space, with food that reminds you of home. Calamari is the best in Indiana, and the steak gives the top restaurants a run for their money. Come thirsty, their bourbon and whiskey list is massive. The specialty drinks nicely done. Staff is outstanding, they enjoy their job and the patrons. It's hard to want to go anywhere else once you've been here.
Every time we go to FoxGardin we wonder why we don't come back more often. It's a rustic bar in a small town serving FABULOUS food. It's really great! Don't miss this one. It's worth the drive.
Nice cozy spot with great food and service, nice atmosphere, cozy and local. The rumble of the train adds to remind you that you’ve found a neighborhood gem!
Celebrated my husband's birthday and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The food is outstanding, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Worth every penny. We'll be back!
Great service, awesome food, solid beer choice. I got the daily special and it was perfectly proportioned and cooked. Sugar Cream pie for dessert was outstanding. Great experience. Will go back!
